Throwback Thursday
Two years ago I started this short story:
I cant see. Why can't I see? Am I blind? No, I cant be I just got my eyes checked; I must be in the dark. Wait no I feel the heat of the sun on me. That leaves one thing, I’m blindfolded. But who would need to blindfold me and why? A part of me wants to freak out but the other part tells me to stay calm. Yes, stay calm that will be best. I’ll be okay if I stay calm. At least I think I will. I felt around me to see where I was at. I feel leather so I must be in a car. Whose car am I in? I don't know anyone with a car that has leather seats. That's when I spoke up
‘What is going on?’
no answer
I know there is other people in the car with me. One is driving, obviously, and I can sense someone is next to me. I go to remove the blindfold when I’m stopped by the person next to me. They held my hands with a firm grip so I couldn’t do it again. The car came to a halt not even 5 minutes later. I heard doors opening and then I felt a strong hand grip onto me helping me out of the car. The driver I suspect because the other was still keeping my hands secure so I couldn’t take off the blindfold.
I tried, again, to ask them what was going on,
‘Why am I blindfolded? What is going on?’
silence
‘Why am I not getting an answer? Did y’all not hear me? Why am I blin...’
‘Dear god shut up, we heard you’ An unfamiliar voice cut me off.
I waited for him to continue but that was all he said. But seconds later I hear him again,
‘Let’s go’ He said pulling me to a walk.
‘Where are we going?’ Once again, no answer. I was about to ask again when I realized I was never going to be answered so why waste my breath?
We stopped walking and the man told me to take the blindfold off. I did as I was told and when I took it off all I saw was darkness, like I hadn’t even taken off the blindfold.
‘What the heck? Is this some sort of joke? Because it isn’t funny.
Next thing I saw was so unexpected.
